de carmo I haven't even listened yet, but Lokey has been a fire producer for ages. One of my fave beats was Mind Body Soul from N.I.F.T.Y. when I was in high school. The Hint, which I heard a while back, is a great track from Aubrey Noronha. I have been bumping that for a couple years. Looking forward to more! Favorite track: The Hint / Selah feat. Aubrey Noronha.

about

After being away for a few years, that Brotha Lokey jumps back on the scene to drop his new compilation, “Urban Revival.”

Having worked in the background on several projects for independent artists over the years (the likes of Shad, Manafest, Rel McCoy, DIE-REK, Promise and others) Lokey has finally come out with a project under his name featuring some of these same artists and a slew of more. Urban Revival has been a project in the making and a brand that Lokey is now bringing to the forefront with a running series on the horizon.

Having the full project mixed by long time friend and Grammy nominated producer/engineer, Adam Messinger (Magic!, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown) – truly lends to bringing out that distinct Lokey sound in the production.

Coming from that ‘boom bap’ era of hip hop – the influence can be heard throughout the project with joints like “The Struggle”, “Revival Time” and “Da Chune Up” to name a few. Lokey definitely pays homage to the “Golden Era” of Hip Hop.

“Aside from the beats, Urban Revival is music with message” as Lokey puts it “We need more of this!” With knocking beats, melodic samples and the artist line up – the vibe on “Urban Revival” is positive and uplifting one and marks the entry point for Lokey with much more new music on the way.
